Margate, Shottendane Road (Coffin House Corner)

We're making great progress as we upgrade our gas network at Coffin House Corner.

Our engineers have completed two of the four planned gas main connections at this junction and expect to finish the remaining connections next week. This includes the link to the nearby district governor, which regulates gas pressure for the local network.

A second team is continuing to install a new gas main along Manston Road. We're working collaboratively with other utilities and Kent County Council to minimise future disruption at this busy junction.

From Monday 24 August, we'll begin work to restore the road surfaces we've disturbed to their original condition. We're on track to reopen the roads after Sunday 30 August. This and further updates will be available on our project web page here - https://www.sgn.co.uk/our-gas-works/major-planned-projects/margate-shottendane-road

Thank you for your continued patience while we carry out this essential work to ensure nearby homes and businesses stay safe and warm.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly with any follow up questions or concerns

Kind Regards
