ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2026 Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (Sections 26 & 27) Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/234)

1. The period for the exercise of public rights

The period during which electors and interested persons may inspect the accounts and supporting documents will commence on Tuesday 23 June 2026 and will end on Wednesday 5 August 2026.

This period is 30 working days and includes the first 10 working days of July, meeting all statutory requirements.

2. Documents available for inspection

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of:

  • The accounting records for the financial year ending 31 March 2026

  • All books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records

These documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to:

3. Rights of local government electors

During the inspection period, local government electors and their representatives have the right to:

  • Question the appointed auditor about the accounting records

  • Make an objection to the auditor regarding any item of account that may be unlawful or where a public interest report may be appropriate

Any objection must be made in writing to the auditor and copied to the Parish Council.

Objections and questions may be submitted only during the inspection period stated above.

5. Publication of unaudited AGAR

The unaudited Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) Sections 1 and 2, together with this Notice and the “Local Authority Accounts: A Summary of Your Rights”, will be published on the Council’s website no later than Monday 22 June 2026, i.e., the day before the inspection period begins, as required.
