This week we have received reports of criminals calling residents in Kent impersonating police officers. The police will never ask you to withdraw money, buy foreign currency, or send someone to collect your cash or valuables.

⚠️ We’ve received a report of an investment scam targeting residents in Kent.

A resident found a website claiming to offer high returns on investments and showing a celebrity endorsement. After signing up, the scammer kept asking for more money to “increase returns”.

The resident’s bank blocked a payment attempt, suspecting fraud. Further checks revealed many online reviews confirming the website was a scam.

✅ Be wary of investment offers promising guaranteed or unusually high returns.
✅ Celebrity endorsements can be fake—always verify through official sources.
✅ Check independent reviews before investing.

⚠️ Solar energy scam targeting residents in Kent.

A letter was sent to a resident claiming that a company would be visiting to replace solar brackets. The recipient had no prior contact with the sender. The envelope was handwritten.

✅ Do not respond to unsolicited letters or calls.
✅ Check with your original solar provider before agreeing to any work.

⚠️ Doorstep criminals active this week in Canterbury, Gravesend and Faversham.

🚨Never respond to cold callers! You will pay a high cost for unnecessary and poor-quality work. Please share this post to warn others in the area.

✅If you need work done on your home or garden use a safe, local trader from KCC Trading Standards Checked.

✅Report cold callers to Kent Police.
