In order to help reduce the level of Anti-Social Behaviour in Manston Park after dark a new, timed security barrier/gate is to be installed at the entrance to the car park on Monday, 4th August 2025.

The gate will automatically close at dusk and reopen again at dawn. A sign will be installed, along with the barrier, displaying a telephone number which can be called in case of emergency.

The new barrier will not require any human intervention to open/close it and will rely solely upon dawn/dusk times supplied by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
